2004 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG – All Keys Lost (FBS3 System)

Working on early-2000s Mercedes flagships isn't your average key programming job. When all keys are lost on a C215 CL55 AMG, the dealer solution often involves massive backorders and replacing expensive security modules.

We tackle these complex FBS3 systems by pulling the Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) to read the internal EEPROM data on the bench, extracting the security hash password, and generating fresh Mercedes Smart Key data files. Both infrared operation and mechanical key backup were cut and programmed to total factory spec, getting this 493-hp supercharged V8 fired back up cleanly.

• Challenge: Complete All-Keys-Lost state on a platform notorious for tight ECU/EIS security integration and complex microcontroller encryption.

• Technical Process:

  1. Bench Diagnostics & EIS Extraction: Safely removed the EIS module to read raw chip dumps directly from the onboard Motorola/NXP MCU.

  2. Password & Key File Calculation: Processed the EEPROM security data to extract the 8-byte hash key password.

  3. Transponder Writing: Flashed updated infrared key data onto replacement smart key hardware.

  4. Emergency Mechanical Blade: Decoded the mechanical door lock cylinder to precision-cut emergency emergency metal insert blades.

  5. Vehicle Adaptation & Verification: Reinstalled the module, validated authorization across the CAN network, and verified engine start alongside full central locking features.
